Broadacres High School – campus landscape design

This school campus landscape design had to contend with much shade during the day, due to the numerous and intricate outdoor spaces created by the architecture. A shade-loving, calming planting palette of whites, purples and blues were used.

A central feature of the landscaping is an obstacle course with three running routes of different length zigzagging through the campus. Each route is marked with animal footprint markers. The obstacles, such as a traverse and pull-up bar, and brick traverse wall, are integrated into the buildings as far as possible.
